HEAVY PLANT BASE FRAME

A very simple project for one of our on-going clients was to fit extensions to an existing base frame to allow the installation of further roof plant. The steel sections were cut, drilled and partially welded in our workshop before being taken to site and assembled. The steels were finished with a protective zinc primer. The combined weight of the plant finally installed on this base frame was a hefty 10 tonnes once fully loaded and required lifting on in four separate lifts with a crane. This isn't much to look at but things don't always have to look complicated to work and over engineering a product can cause many problems, the key to it's strength is it's simplicity.
